The blog (comes from webblog) is a web site, where you write, like you do it in your diary, and the newest content appears on the top (regular blog). Blogs often provides news on some specific topic, comments and with the latest widgets you can do whatever you want. The topics could be news in the heath, pet, financial, food, sport industry and etc. A typical blog contains text, images (graphics/photos), links to other resources (sites, blogs), mostly related. This kind of web sites are mainly used for sharing news and graphics with the whole world, videos and audios. In English language the word blog means also catalog, where you add new stuff.

If you have your own hosting, there are a lot of "blog publishing systems", where you can get your own blog on a domain. For example: WordPress (the most popular one), bBlog, b2evolution, blogger and etc. If you want to start blogging right away (and you do not have hosting and domain), you can try with https://www.blogger.com .

I personally recommend you WordPress as a blog platform (on your own host - WordPress.com does not allows commertial blogging - ProBlogging), because it has more features than the others.

1. Compeletely free!
2. Easy to be created and managed
3. You can find a lot of themes for it as well as design your custom one
4. There are millions free plugins out there
